What we do

Every week we look at one part of the practice's economics—overhead, staffing wages, PPO reimbursement, valuations or consolidation—and turn the available data into a short, direct briefing. No vendor talking points, no recycled press releases.

How we source our numbers

Our figures come from public, citable sources: the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute, the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, and published industry surveys. Every statistic carries its source and year.

The calculators on this site record inputs anonymously, with no email attached. Figures from our own data appear only once they clear a minimum sample. When we estimate, we say so. When a number is contested, we show the range. If we get something wrong, we correct it in place and note the correction.

Who we are

The Dental Signal is an independent publication. We analyze public data rather than rely on insider access, and we show our sources so you can check the work. We publish under one byline, The Signal Team, because we would rather the numbers carry the argument than a personality.
