About the publication
What is The Dental Signal?
A newsletter and research site about the business side of running a dental practice—overhead, staffing, associate compensation, insurance, production benchmarks, and practice sales. It is written for practice owners, associates, and office managers. We cover the business of dentistry, not clinical care.
Where do your figures come from?
Our articles name their sources—chiefly the ADA Health Policy Institute, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Dental Economics surveys—and give the year. Figures from our own data appear only once they clear a minimum sample. Our methodology explains how figures are compiled.
How often do you publish?
New articles go up regularly, and the newsletter is a weekly digest of what's new. The archive holds 360+ articles. Benchmark reports for Pro members are published monthly.
Can I suggest a topic or report an error?
Yes. For a topic, email info@thedentalsignal.com. For a correction, include the article link and the source you're relying on so we can check it quickly.
Plans and billing
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes the weekly newsletter, the public article archive, members-only articles, and every calculator and checklist. Pro ($29 a month or $290 a year) adds the monthly Pro report and paid deep dives. See Pricing for the full comparison.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Pro starts with a 14-day free trial. You enter payment details at signup but aren't charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you won't be charged at all.
How do I cancel?
Open your account and cancel your subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?
Yes, from your account. Stripe, our payment processor, prorates the difference.
Do you offer team access?
Each Pro subscription is for one person. Running multiple locations or advising practices? Email info@thedentalsignal.com about team access.
Tools and data
Are the calculators free?
Yes. The overhead calculator, valuation estimator, associate comp calculator, and PPO exit calculator are free and ungated: your full results appear as soon as you calculate, with no email required.
What happens to the numbers I enter?
The figures you enter are stored anonymously—without your email address or name—so we can build aggregate benchmarks. After your results, you can choose to get updates by email; that is a separate, optional newsletter signup and is not attached to your calculator entries. Our privacy policy has the details.
Can I print the checklists?
Yes. Each checklist has a "Print / save PDF" button, and your browser's print command works too. Your progress is saved only in your browser on your device.
Account
How do I sign in?
Enter your email address and we'll send you a one-time sign-in link. There is no password to remember.
How do I change my email address, newsletter settings, or payment details?
All three are in your account.
How do I stop receiving emails?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or turn off the newsletter in your account. Unsubscribing from emails does not cancel a paid subscription.
How do I delete my account?
Email info@thedentalsignal.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it.
