About The Dental Signal
What is The Dental Signal?
The Dental Signal is an independent intelligence service for dental practice owners, associates, and office managers. We publish data-driven analysis on practice overhead, staffing, production benchmarks, M&A activity, and operational strategy - the financial side of dentistry that most publications ignore.
Who writes this?
Our editorial team includes healthcare industry operators and analysts who have spent years inside the business side of clinical practices. We combine real-world operational experience with industry data from the ADA Health Policy Institute, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Dental Economics, and other authoritative sources. Every article is fact-checked and cited.
How is this different from Dental Economics or ADA News?
Most dental publications are advertiser-supported and focus on clinical content. We focus exclusively on the business of running a practice - overhead, staffing, revenue, compliance, and operations. We accept no advertising revenue that would compromise our editorial independence. See our full comparison.
Content & Publishing
How often do you publish?
We publish 3-5 articles per week covering practice management, overhead analysis, staffing data, compliance updates, and industry news. Free subscribers receive all public articles via email. Pro subscribers receive additional monthly benchmarking reports and premium analysis.
Where does your data come from?
We source data from the ADA Health Policy Institute, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Dental Economics annual surveys, DentalPost salary surveys, ADSO market reports, state dental board records, and published practice broker transaction data. Every claim is cited. We clearly label estimates vs. verified data. See our full data methodology disclosure.
