How it is built

We read the public for-sale listings of dental practice brokers weekly: OMNI Practice Group and ddsmatch. A figure is published only once it clears a minimum sample of 30 listings nationally (20 for any state). Only exact or approximate figures count toward a median. "Over $1.4 million" is a floor, not a value, so those listings are counted but excluded (14 this week). Office-space and real-estate listings are excluded, since they are buildings rather than practices.

These are the collections sellers advertise, not audited financials or final sale prices. A practice listed with more than one broker may appear twice.
